For yet another year, Señorio de Montanera wants to pay tribute to the pasturelands of Extremadura, its purpose and most important natural heritage, through designing a luxury collection as the perfect gift for Christmas. The company has collaborated with the Madrid-based interior designer Guille García-Hoz to create a gem that would highlight this priceless ecosystem.
Guille García-Hoz is one of Spain's leading designers and has managed to condense the essence of the Dehesa de Extremadura into a unique luxury accessory: a limited edition ceramic brooch inspired by the region's holm oaks.
This unique brooch is part of an exclusive collection that, together with a piece of Señorio de Montanera’s acorn-fed 100% Iberico Ham with the D.O.P. Dehesa de Extremadura, makes the perfect set for a special gift. A limited edition of just 50 pieces that is grounded on the values shared by both brands: the search for quality, attention to detail, respect for the environment, and craftsmanship.
A perfect gift full of values
The creative blend between artisan design and the flavour of the best acorn-fed Iberico Ham is the result of a philosophy—based on innovation and the recovery of old trades in equal measure. Señorio de Montanera and Guille García-Hoz defend and share similar values in terms of savoir-faire: the search for quality and beauty, respect for the environment and the enhancement of craftsmanship and mastery inherent to tradition. The ceramic brooch shrinks in size during the kilning process, establishing a curious resemblance to the production process of Iberian Ham, which loses around 30% of its weight during the maturing process.
"We are Spanish firms, we believe in what we do and in our product, and we take care of all the processes down to the smallest detail, whilst being as sustainable as we can be". These are the words of Guille García-Hoz, who assures us that the countryside is an infinite source of inspiration in all its seasons, and to which, he returns as often as he can; he is deeply in love with the La Vera region.
The Guille García-Hoz brooch for Señorio de Montanera is a gem that extols the value of the Dehesa, depicting the leaves of the holm oak with acorns, all in immaculate white with golden accents. "For some time now, I have been going back and forth between asphalt and meadows, cities and countryside. From this, I draw inspiration from vegetation, just like artists such as William Morris did, founder of the Arts & Crafts movement, a great advocate of the countryside and craftsmanship", he says.
A commitment to local and sustainable trade
The commitment to local and sustainable trade is another feature of this limited edition. To make the brooch, Guille relied on the Talavera Ceramics Centre for its excellent work, which was awarded the status of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco. Decoraciones Cerámicas Madrileñas was responsible for adding the gold lustre, which represents the richness of our nature, adding a touch of sophistication to an essentially elegant and simple piece. The result is a unisex accessory that "can be worn over a tweed jacket, very autumnal and very country, even over a cloth coat; this is the perfect time of year to wear it, when it starts to get cold, though not too cold".
The Guille García-Hoz brooch is encased in a PET fabricated wooden box, made in Spain to minimise its carbon footprint as much as possible. y PET fabricada en España con el fin de reducir todo lo posible la huella de carbono.

The luxury showroom of Señorio de Montanera
The values of tenacity, perseverance and craftsmanship that Señorio de Montanera has upheld from the outset are shared by the design and fashion sector in our country. These values have served as a source of inspiration to develop a series of extraordinary collaborations prior to partnering with Guille García-Hoz, upholding the exclusive character of the leading brand in the production of pure Iberian Ham with the Designation of Origin Dehesa de Extremadura.
Señorio de Montanera's luxury window display was inaugurated in 2019 when the renowned designer Juanjo Oliva designed a bag to contain an acorn-fed 100% Iberico Ham, managing to blend fashion with Spanish cuisine. In 2020, Manuel García, founder of the men's fashion house García Madrid, captured the dawn of the pastures on a printed silk scarf, which was as sophisticated and 100% natural as the product it accompanied.

Trained at the European Institute of Design and the University of Montreal, with experience in prestigious studios, his signature accompanies exquisite jewellery pieces inspired by the animal world and an array of unique decorative objects.
