The summum of Pure Iberian craftsmanship

Señorío de Montanera, leader in pure Iberico products from P.D.O. Dehesa de Extremadura, and Javier Sánchez Medina, craftsman and restorer from Extremadura, are promoting Iberian Craftsmanship in a very special partnership this Christmas. This piece of art is inspired by the value of old trades, such as the production of Iberico ham and craftsmanship using natural fibres, and their place in the hustle and bustle of the modern world.

The partnership between Señorío de Montanera and Javier S. Medina pays tribute to their traditional roots, which has bestowed in them an utmost respect for nature, the pursuit of excellent craftsmanship and the love for detail. The symbiosis between these shared values has given shape to a gift overflowing with beauty and tradition, that includes an Acorn-fed 100% Iberico Ham with P.D.O. Two worlds united by the mastery of the old trades

At Señorío de Montanera they believe that the principles of tenacity, perseverance and mastery, which form the basis for the production of their acorn-fed 100% Iberico ham, are shared with other sectors inherited from old trades. That is why, every Christmas season, they team up with very special artists (such as Juanjo Oliva, García Madrid and Guille García de la Hoz) who bring all their know-how to transmit the essence of that artisanal gourmet product that is the Señorío de Montanera pure Acorn-fed Iberico Ham.

Javier Sánchez Medina’s work reinvents rural folk art in a unique way and it shares more than just its Extremadura roots with Señorío de Montanera. Javier learned the trade from his grandfather, just as the livestock farming partners of Señorío de Montanera inherited their passion for the dehesa pastures and the Iberian pig from their predecessors.

We imagine life in his workshop to be similar to that in our curing cellars, where time stands still and each piece requires patience and perseverance until perfection is reached,” explains Francisco Espárrago, President of the company."

In this special edition, Javier Sánchez Medina wanted to transmit the essence of his Extremadura roots, by paying tribute to the value of tradition, the taste for a job well done and the love that makes it happen. “My work has qualities that match those of Señorío de Montanera, which is reflected in the quality of the final product”, says the craftsman.
